Tysa Slade, LMFT
Tysa Slade is a licensed marriage and family therapist ( LMFT) with a wealth of knowledge and experience in supporting the healing of others. Tysa began her academic experience in the field of sports medicine and athletic training where she earned her bachelor of science degree from California State University (CSU), Fullerton. Her degree program at CSU exposed her to the interplay of our minds and bodies and the connection between the physiological and psychological operations that impact our daily functioning. Tysa continued her academic training at Alliant international University in Los Angeles where she earned her Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Tysa is honored to be a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. She is a certified facilitator of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), A renowned technique to support trauma healing. She is also certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT). Tysa is motivated and compassionate in her work with adolescents, adults, couples and families. She is a passionate advocate of those who are struggling and is competent, approachable and empathetic in her demeanor.
Tysa is specialized in the treatment of trauma related conditions as well as addiction recovery work. She is also experienced in treating depression, anxiety, adolescent issues, marriage and family problems, relationship concerns, attachment and developmental concerns, and grief associated with significant loss. Tysa has additional experience supporting women and children struggling to escape and heal from domestic violence, homelessness, and other tragic situations.
Tysa loves her family. She is a proud mother of 4 children and 4 granddaughters! Tysa enjoys musical theater, and has directed, choreographed and played leading roles in a variety of productions over the past 25 years. When not with family, at work, or on a theatrical stage, Tysa can often be found snow skiing, water skiing, hiking, playing the piano or dancing!
